Massage

Relaxation:

Traditionally known as ‘Swedish massage’, relaxation massage is a tactile experience designed to relax both the mind and the body. The focus is on gentle release of muscular tension for a whole-body experience.

Therapeutic:

Similar to relaxation massage, with greater focus on resolving muscular tension or tightness with the use of deep strokes.

Sports:

Designed to assist sports people in the preparation and recovery of sporting events, sports massage can help in the promotion of muscle strength, flexibility and coordination. Generally sports massage incorporates assisted stretching and a stretch routine.

Deep Tissue:

Deep Tissue massage works deep into the muscle and facia to release chronic muscle tension and knots, in a style similar to a relaxation massage but with a much stronger and therapeutic-focused approach.

Trigger Point:

Also known as Myofascial therapy, Trigger Point Therapy specifically targets muscles experiencing dysfunction. The treatment can cause discomfort but has very effective results. These trigger points left untreated often refer pain to other parts of the body. The style can be especially useful in treating “stress headaches” and other tension-related ailments.

Cupping:

Cupping is an effective and pain-free way to treat deep chronic muscular pain, achieving myofascial release. It is also possible to treat for cosmetic results, improving the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite. There are also methods for cosmetic facial rejuvenation.

Remedial:

Remedial massage provides a holistic approach to healing the body, incorporating a range of the techniques described above.

Pregnancy Massage:

Incorporating remedial and relaxation techniques, pregnancy massage relieves stress, muscle pain and tension for expectant mothers. Therapists are trained to provide treatments appropriate for pregnant women, and special care is taken to ensure a comfortable and safe massage. Other benefits can also include a reduction in fluid retention, and an increase in lymphatic and cardiovascular flow.

Foot Massage:

A relaxing 30 minute foot massage, which incorporates lower legs and feet, including major reflexology points.

Bowen Therapy:

Bowen Therapy achieves fantastic remedial results without the pain often associated with remedial massage. Bowen Therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free technique suitable for all, especially those needing a sensitive touch such as the elderly or pregnant and can be just as effective for sports people and athletes. Treatments vary in length depending on the needs and issues presented by individual cases (Max 60 min).

Stretch Therapy:

Available as a one-on-one session or as part of a class, stretch therapy teaches stretches and exercises that have been developed to help people overcome injury, beat ongoing pain and regain freedom of movement to get the most out of their bodies. It can be accessed with almost all levels of health and fitness. 8 week group classes available at beginner and intermediate levels.

Whole Body Balance

1 ½ hour massage designed to leave you feeling relaxed and stress-free, combining relaxation and remedial techniques. A whole body experience that finishes with energy work focusing on acu points and meridians that will leave you with a true sense of peace and centredness.

*More than one of these techniques may be incorporated into a massage treatment to meet clients’ individual needs.
